Paris Public Transport Tickets

Paris-Public-transport-tickets

Different options are available for the Pass/Ticket in Paris public transport. Tickets and electronic cards are used to validate the journey, namely the  Passe Navigo (for the city residents only), Pass Navigo Découverte (Navigo discovery pass), Passe Navigo Easy (Navigo Easy Pass), Paris Visite (Paris Visit Pass), Airport Ticket, t+ Tickets, Mobilis and IDF Tickets. Other than the Passe Navigo, all other types of passes and tickets can be used by foreigners. The Navigo Découvérte pass and other tickets are available at train station information or service centers. In most stations, you will see many RATP or SNCF automatic ticket vending machines for recharging cards and buying tickets. The Ile de-France region (a department in France, which includes Paris) is divided into 5 zones for transportation. Central Paris is in Zone 1.  The fares are calculated according to the selection of zones. Don’t forget to validate your ticket once you made a transfer. Your mobile phones can be used as your ticket for the Paris metros, Trains, Buses, and Trams.

Advice from us

If your visit is short, We recommend using Navigo Découverte pass for all zones(1-5) for your traveling, which costs you €30.75 for a week of unlimited travel. By this recharge you can travel to any zone in the Île-de-France region in any mode of transport (RER, Metro, Transilien, Tramway, Bus, Noctilien, Roissy bus, and Orly bus) with unlimited access, however, if you arrive in Paris on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday you cannot use this option, as a Navigo Découverte can not be recharged on these days for the same week. If you recharge on these days, your pass will load for the next week. You can view the other options also in the section below.
