Taxis in Paris
After the Paris public transport, taxis are the most commonly used mode of transport in Paris. You can pre-book a taxi via applications or even you can hire a taxi from the street. If you hire a taxi from the street, make sure it has a Taxi Parisien board fixed on top of the vehicle. We will talk about this in detail in the following sections. On this page, we talk about the different private taxi companies and the official Parisien taxi operating in Paris.
Taxi Parisien
Once you were reached Paris, you can see many cars holding a “TAXI PARISIEN” board on top of the vehicle. These cars are licensed taxi cars that run according to French government norms. The fares of these types of cars are standard and we can see the fares on the monitor. The TAXI PARISIEN board is mandatory and it contains some information too. If the board is appearing in green, it means that the vehicle is available for a ride and if it is in red color, it means it is occupied. Also, you can see three small lights indicated as “A, B, C”. These lights are provided for the indication of the tariff. The price of the trip depends on the time, day, and location of the taxi. Traveling from the Paris center to the airport (also vice versa) is fixed. Prices are different if the destination is located on the left bank or on the right bank of the River Seine.
How to book a taxi Parisien
There are two ways to access Taxi Parisien
- By hailing one on the street.
- Booking by phone at +331 45 30 30 30. Instant booking and pre-booking are available. For a pre-booking, they charge an extra €7 and for an instant booking, they charge an extra €4 for your trip.
Fares
- For “A” the rate is set at € 1.14/km and € 36.02/hour (if the speed is less than 31.79 km/h ).
- For “B” the rate is set at € 1.53/km and € 49.10/hour (if the speed is less than 28.89 km/h).
- For “C” the rate is set at € 1.70/km and € 38.30/hour (if the speed is less than 21.76 km/h ).
- Minimum fare: € 7.30.
- Extra charge for the fifth passenger: € 4.50
- Extra charge per suitcase (from the second suitcase onwards): € 1
- CDG Airport <=> Paris right bank journey: € 55.00.
- CDG Airport <=> Paris left bank journey: € 62.00.
- Orly Airport <=> Paris right bank journey: € 41.00.
- Orly Airport <=> Paris left bank journey: € 35.00.
